Peter Francis Laxalt is a multidisciplinary creative leader who integrates design, art, and technology. A self-taught creative catalyst with over 15 years of experience, he has successfully navigated companies and organizations from inception to maturity. He founded the globally recognized creative studio Laxalt & McIver at 19 years old and succeeded from the studio in 2021.

Growing up in Reno, Nevada, Peter became enamored with his local graffiti, skate, and punk scenes – unconventional building blocks that would eventually merge with a deep knowledge of design, engineering, and multilingual design systems. The visual language of those subcultures continues to inform his work, whether it’s his approach to typography, illustration, branding, globalized design systems, or full stack development.

His professional journey is as holistic as it is non-traditional, as with companies like Patagonia, Dribbble, West Elm, Marriott, Amazon, and NASA. Each project and collaboration reflects his diverse ability to craft innovative design strategies with profound impact.

Currently, Peter is based in New York City and leads the design vision at Weee!, America's largest online Asian supermarket. Outside of work, he also runs a private font design and engineering practice focused on multilingual typography and non-Latin scripts. His specialized expertise lies at the intersection of globalization, design technology, and multilingual design systems — continuously pushing the boundaries of how visual communication can transcend cultural and technological limitations.
